Yes, but people ascending do it when they are usually under level 20 in NM and Ursan blessing is an elite that requires EOTN.

Coming up with core skills/Tyrian only skills that beat doppleganger is the interesting part. Both in HM and NM.

I came up with this for an A/R due to the Dopplegangers inability to use a pet.

There is nothing special I did on my ele character. I just bought Aura of Restoration, Fire Storm, Flare, Double Dragon (elite), Liquid flame, Immolate, pheonix and Fire Attunement. I casted aura and fire attune before entering the arena. When i got there, i casted FS then Liquid flame, then immolate and pheonix, then flared him to death. I only needed 2 flares to kill him. It took me around 20 seconds with this build. However, cause Anet decided to improve the AI of dopple, he decides to escape the raining fire skills, a distance crippling skill would mean he takes longer to move so the fire showers will hurt him for longer. So, with this distance cripple skill, cripple him, use glyph on concentration, then MS, then flare, liquid flame and immolate him till he dies. This should work, hopefully, if there is a distance crippling skill.

as a ranger just bring traps and rituals and you can kill him in under 30 seconds easily

I checked the wiki and found 2 easy ways.

1.)Bring Arcane echo and Ebon Vanguard assasin support. Cast arcane echo before stepping on the third rock. When in the arena, cast the support skill. Then cast the arcane echo duplicate. This does require a high rank (I tried it with rank 2 in HM and failed, badly)

2.)Equip Mist form and Empathy. Cast mist form before the third rock. When in the arena, cast empathy on the dopple. He will attack you, causing him to die slowly (a high domination magic and water magic rank is neccesary), while mist form will cause him to deal no damage to you. You MUST NOT attack him, or you will die slowly as well. Reapply mist form to yourself and empathy to him until he dies. This method is fail safe if you follow the above rules.

For W/Mo:
Frenzy, Life Attunement, Deadly Riposte.
In Normal you have a dead Doppelganger withing 10 seconds.
Thus you get bonus too.
Of course this does mean you'll need a sword. And don't use the first 2 skills, those are for doppelganger to kill him self with.

With a necromancer:

Awaken The Blood, Order of the Vampire, Enfeeble, Reckless Haste, Price of Failure.

Usage: Don't use order of the vampire. keep enfeeble, Reckless Haste, and Price of Failure on him at all times. Don't attack him, let him kill himself.

Just did this one today.

Didn't really need the strip Enchantment at all. I cast Fire Attunement, then "I am the Strongest", then Flare & AoR. Then Ear bite as soon as you have some adrenaline - the bleeding helps take him down quickly. He got me the first 2 times but on the third time I got him in about 2 minutes.

I am no further than rank one in either Norn or Dwarf reputation.

Let him cast spirits while you frenzy away with a 20/20 15^50 hammer.
After he's done casting spirits, spam dwarven battle stance and finish him off.

Crystal lake-Nice method. Im r8 norn, so i pobably would have done slightly better, because im r6 delver.

Ghostcell-Not a good idea, but a good idea. He cant use it, but you cant heal fom his attacks. Equiping ursan with 2 other PvE skills that will help you would work, but not well on HM.

Sjeng-Nice idea. Those spirits wont help, but hes programmed to use them.

Nice builds guys, keep them coming!

for a ranger/any class beating the doppleganger is very easy.. it may have been where your pet wouldn't come with you before but its not that way now.. simply set up troll unguent (wilderness survival of 4) and max out your beast mastery.. set up bestial pounce, call of haste, poisonous bite and feral lunge (to counter his heal from troll unguent), otyuhgs cry, and comfort animal. since the doppleganger has no pet the pet skills are completely useless to it. also works for any/ranger as well.

Any/necro. Equip +hp shield and wand Max curses cast insidious parasite recast as needed do not attack and watch him die. Even faster if you take evas, ymlad, and finish him.
